    Hello!
    What’s a portico?
Also, what is access to the building like? I want to come and say hello but I’m not a UCL student and I can’t come until quite late this evening (about 11pm). I like security guards but I don’t want them to put me off.
My cousin is visiting this evening from the Manchester Occupation. Say hello to them from me just in case I don’t make it!

You don’t need ID to gain entry to the JBR, it’s in the public access part of the building.

Simpler instructions: from the main entrance on Gower Street, pass though the gates, heading straight ahead toward the large set of steps (the portico), don’t go up the steps, but instead walk to the left and enter the building though the small door (you need to press the large silver button to open). Going though the door, walk left into the main cloisters. The library entrance (security barriers) is in front of you, the JBR is to the right of this up a small flight of stairs.
