Tariq Ali has sent us a message of support:
Yesterday here in Rio de Janeiro, I spoke to a conference of trade unionists, students, kids from the slums and told them how even in Britain there was a fightback. They cheered. I support your actions. The struggle must continue against all the parliamentary parties who supported the cuts and austerity. And against those for whom protest is simply a ritual. Don’t forgot that former Presidents of the NUS (Jack Straw and Phil Woolas are in my mind) have a habit of disgracing themselves. It’s a path to be avoided.
